When Christies brought the painting ‘The Bezestein Bazaar of El Khan Khalil’ by John Frederick Lewis, to market, we partnered with director Freddie Leyden to bring this important 19th century masterpiece to another dimension. The painting has such a rich story. We wanted to really immerse viewers in every aspect, invite them to absorb the atmosphere and make them feel they were part of the scene. This created an unprecedented online buzz and exciting leading up to the sale of this masterpiece.

We carefully divided the painting into layers and embedded them into a 3D space to create the immersive effect. We used camera movement, distortion, 3D elements, as well as animating the characters' bodies and facial expressions to bring the scene to life.

Be immersed in an 19th century masterpiece
